Most homeowners in a hard spot are handed two choices — find all the money, or lose the home. That isn't true. I help people in tough situations find a real way out, and I'll give you a straight answer whether or not it involves me.
A word about what you've probably been hearing. You've seen the signs and postcards — "We buy houses, cash, fast." There's no shortage of people who'll promise you a number and disappear, or call back a week later with a lower one. I don't work that way.
My word is the whole business. If I tell you something, I mean it, and I put it in writing.

Now playing: Overview: your options at a glance
Grief doesn't run on a schedule, and nobody should rush you through it. But the house does keep a schedule of its own. Here's what usually catches families off guard:
Rough numbers are fine. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.
This site is here to give you answers. Some you'll already know. Some you won't. A few may even seem obvious. I'd just ask that you look at them with an open mind, because one of them may be the way out from under the weight you're carrying right now.
When it feels like the world is coming down on you, it's hard to think clearly. That's why most of what I lay out here are things you can do yourself. A lot of people simply never hear about them. Most have no benefit to me at all. A couple of them are ways I could buy your house, if that turns out to be the road you want. That's your call, not mine.
The options run from one end to the other. On one end, you catch up the loan. I know, if that were easy you wouldn't be here, but it is an option, and sometimes a family member is able to help. On the far end, you wait until the sheriff walks you out of the house.
I understand being angry. Maybe the bank deserves some of it. But waiting for a full foreclosure isn't in your best interest. It follows you, and in ways most people don't expect. Many of the other options here soften that hit and let you land on your feet.
A word about credit, since it comes up a lot. Your credit score isn't a measure of who you are or how you think. It's a snapshot of what happened to you. But that snapshot matters. It affects whether you can get financing and what you'll pay for it. Something most people don't realize is that it can affect your insurance too. In Florida, many insurance companies use a credit-based score as part of setting your rate. Protecting your credit now makes the next chapter cheaper and easier.
So take your time. Watch the videos, ask questions, and call me if it helps. There's never a charge, and never any pressure.
But I'd be doing you a disservice if I didn't say this plainly: the bank doesn't wait, and an empty house doesn't either. Every month that goes by closes a door or two, and the best options are usually the ones you start early. Taking your time is fine. Losing your choices to the calendar isn't.
